Public Notice – Lyme disease

The Outaouais Public Health Department would like to transmit the following information regarding Lyme disease to municipalities in the region.

The tick responsible for transmitting Lyme disease is present in Outaouais and is active from spring until fall. The DSP calls on municipalities to inform their citizens and workers about ways to prevent Lyme disease.

We encourage you to raise awareness among citizens through your municipal website by integrating the link below from the CISSS de l’Outaouais. This site contains information on Lyme disease, prevention measures and what to do in the event of a tick bite.

Municipal workers with outside tasks are a higher risk group. We encourage you to read the leaflets at the links below, available in several languages, and to distribute them to your staff.
